The father of eight children, of which seven are biological & one adopted Lupillo Rivera is married to Mayeli Rivera, since 2006. In a Spanish language talk show called "Cristina", Lupillo appeared with his two younger children & told the talk-show host that he has altogether eight children, among which seven are biological & one is adopted. He has one child with another woman, which is out of his marriage.

Originally from Mexico, Lupillo Rivera is a Mexican-American singer and songwriter, best known for Grammy Award winning "Tu Esclavo y Amo" album. Best known by his stage name Lupillo Rivera, he is a well-known name in American as well Mexican music industry. Nearly after a decade into music career, in 2010, upon receiving numerous Grammy & Latin Grammy nominations for his contribution, that year, Lupillo was awarded with Grammy Award for 2009's "Tu Esclavo y Amo". Initially wanted to a career as restaurant owner, Lupillo's father who was recording label owner wanted his son to had his business experience, of which he hired him to work at the studio when contracted artist failed to show up for recording season. Afterwards, following an idea of his father he was given the challenge of looking for local talents at bars, who would later be signed to his father's company. When he initiated singing he was initially called "El Torito" Lupillo Rivera, & later with the increasing popularity he became known as "El Toro del Corrido". And by 1999, he was already signed to Sony Discos, & was singing under his name as "Lupillo".

Born as Guadalupe Rivera Saavedra, on January 30, 1972, Lupillo is the native of La Barca, Jalisco, Mexico. The child of Rosa Saavedra & Pedro Rivera, Lupillo & his entire family member illegally migrated to Long Beach, California. At the time, he was four years old. At Long Beach, Lupillo attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School, & graduated from there in 1990. Luppilo's is the cousin of semi-famous professional boxer, who was known to his Mexican boxing fans as El Toro Rivera. Lupillo had a sister named Jenni River (who was also a singer) died at the age of 43 in a plane crash.

One of the well-known personality, originally from Mexico, Lupillo Rivera is a Mexico-born American singer & songwriter, who had recently win Grammy Award in 2010 for his album "Tu Esclavo y Amo".
